Terms of Use
Version 1.0 · Effective 3 August 2026
These terms apply when you use The Move Report. By uploading a document or buying a report, you agree to them.
An automated informational review
The Move Report is an automated informational review, not legal advice or a guarantee. It may contain errors or omissions. Verify important information with the mover, FMCSA, or a qualified professional before acting.
The analysis is produced by automated systems, including large language models, working from the documents you upload and from public federal records. No human reviews your report before you receive it.
What you are buying
One automated analysis of one interstate household-goods moving estimate or contract, for $29, paid once. A report covers a single document from a single mover or broker; comparing movers means a separate check, and a separate charge, for each. There is no subscription and no account.
The free scan is free. Nothing is charged unless you choose to buy the full report. Reports are normally ready within a few minutes of payment.
What The Move Report is not
- Not legal advice. Nothing here is a legal opinion or a substitute for one. It is also not financial, insurance, tax, or other professional advice.
- Not a verdict on any company. We do not call companies fraudulent, safe, legitimate, or compliant, and we do not produce a score. We report what your documents say, what official FMCSA records show, and which federal consumer-protection points apply.
- Not a price estimator. We do not tell you what your move should cost.
- Not a marketplace or referral service. We do not recommend movers and are not paid by any.
- Not affiliated with FMCSA, the U.S. Department of Transportation, or any mover or broker. We use public federal data; we do not speak for the agencies that publish it.
No guarantee of outcome
We do not guarantee that a report is complete or free of error, and we do not guarantee anything about how a mover will behave — their conduct, their price, whether they deliver on time, how they handle a claim, or how your move turns out. A report describes documents and records. It cannot promise you a result.
Limits of the analysis
We can only report what is in the documents you upload and in the data FMCSA publishes. A document that is illegible, incomplete, or not actually an estimate limits what we can find. The absence of a finding is not evidence that a problem does not exist. FMCSA records reflect what a company has filed and can be out of date.
Findings that depend on document content are checked against the document itself, and any we cannot tie to specific document text are removed rather than shown to you unverified. That means the report may omit something real that the document did not clearly state.
Verify before you act
You are responsible for verifying anything material before you rely on it. Check the USDOT number yourself at the FMCSA, read your own contract, and speak to the mover or a qualified professional about anything that matters to your decision. The decision to hire a mover, and its consequences, remain yours.
Scope
The Move Report covers moves between two different U.S. states. Moves within a single state are regulated by that state rather than by the federal rules this analysis is built on. We do not accept payment for those.
Refunds
The principle is that you should not stay charged when we cannot give you a report that is usable and trustworthy.
- If we cannot produce a report we would be willing to sell you, we refund you automatically — you do not have to ask, and you do not have to notice. This happens when the analysis fails, or when we cannot tie the findings to your document well enough to stand behind them.
- If the report you received is defective, tell us and we will put it right. Email support@themovereport.com with your report reference and what went wrong — for example it misread your document, it is missing something it says it checked, or it is not a review of the document you uploaded. We review within two business days and refund to the original payment method where the report was not usable or trustworthy.
A completed report with no serious defect is not refunded simply on request. The report is delivered in full and immediately, and the work is done the moment you buy it.
Your report
- Your report is yours to keep, print, and share. Anyone with the link can read it, so treat the link as private.
- Do not alter a report or present a changed version as ours. You may quote from it and share it as issued. You may not edit its content, remove its attribution or disclaimers, or represent an altered version as something The Move Report produced.
- You may not resell reports, or use the service to build a competing product or dataset.
- The report text, layout and underlying analysis remain ours. Your documents remain yours; you give us permission to process them only to produce your report.
Reports remain available for 12 months from purchase and are then deleted. See the Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
Upload only documents you are entitled to upload. Do not attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the service, and do not use it unlawfully. We may decline or stop providing service where these terms are broken.
